The Alamo Post #1

The Alamo

By the early 1820s, The Mexicans have won independence from Spai and American settlers began immigrating to the south, Texas. A decade later, the American population has increased, and a fight for independence has developed between the Mexicans and Texans. By the middle of February of 1836, a revolutionary group led by George Collinsworth and Benjamin Milam were set on a mission to overtake the garrison at The Alamo. While that was happening, Colonal James Bowie and Lieutenant Colonal William B. Travis began to prepare to defend The Alamo from the Mexicans. A battle has begun, no more than 200 Texans and a Mexican army of  an estimate of 1800 and 6000 commanded by General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna clash. The Texans held out for thirteen days, but on March 6th, the battle has ended Mexicans have slaughtered everyone leaving only a few survivors. A month has passed. It is April 21 1836, 800 Texans have come back to take the Alamo once a again. They defeated Santa Anna's army of 1500, and to ensure their victory they captured Santa Anna as a prisoner until he has come to terms with the Texans to end the war. In May the Mexican troops retreated.
